I took some potato pics of yesterdays Miata purchase after a quick wash and wax. Plus some of my dear W123 at my brothers place this past weekend that I will be parting ways with shortly:(

Why are you getting rid of the W123?

I can only afford one. I got the miata because it is the kind of car I have always wanted. I love the W123 and how cool it is to drive. But its not fun to drive.

I got ya. I don't know if I would say "not fun" but definitely not exciting by any means.

Welcome to the NA club! Please check your wing at the door. :P

haha in all seriousness, congratulations! Unless you have a detailed service history, I'd suggest checking out:
CAS o-ring, they like to leak oil and destroy the heater hose right under it.

Valve cover gasket, leaks should be fairly obvious as it seeps out of the cover.

Belts (timing belt and water pump included) and seals such as cam shaft seal, crank shaft seal, yadda yadda. That was one of the first things I did when I got the car since I wasn't sure when it was last performed. Rosenthal Mazda's online parts store has a nice kit for it, and they are a great source for Miata parts.

I also changed my diff and tranny oils with RedLine. For funsies. But definitely something often overlooked on old cars. The diff oil in mine was all goopy when I drained it

I have a thick folder of service records. It all came from the person who bought the car new, not the guy I just bought it from. So I need to go through that tomorrow and see if anything is coming up. I know a lot of things were addressed as needed but I don't know when. I'll probs replace the trans and diff with Redline for fun as well. Haven't noticed any leaks. Can't be anywhere near as bad as my Benz pictured above lol.
